Kutztown University of Pennsylvania (2004-2008) and (2009-2010)
In the fall of 2004, I was employed as an adjunct instructor at Kutztown Unversity of Pennsylvania. I had my Master's Degree and thirteen years of policing experience. I taught Introduction to Policing and Introduction to Criminal Justice that first year. Originally, I was hired a sabatical replacement, however, they ended up needing me to continue for the next four years. During my time there I worked with some incredible faculty members and gained a tremendous amount of experience by being assigned to teach a number of additional courses, including: Management of Offenders, Substance Abuse & Crime, and Investigations & Intelligence. In the academic year 2008-2009, they did not have a position for me. However, they brought me back in the academic year of 2009-2010. During my time there I also advised students and assisted with Curriculum Developement, including the development of a course called Victims & Victim's Rights. I also helped rewrite the KU Criminal Justice Internship Manual and supervised four CJ "fieldwork students". My time at KU was very valuable to the development of my teaching skills. It was also during my time at KU that I was fully accepted into Temple Universities Ph.D. program.
Temple University (Spring 2009)
In the fall of 2008, Temple University's Criminal Justice Department asked if I would be interested in teaching Introduction to Law Enforcment and another course in the Spring of 2009. I jumped at the opportunity to teach at Temple University and expand my teaching portfolio. In the Spring of 2009, I taught one section of Introduction to Law Enforcement and one section of Sexual Crimes & the Law.
West Chester University (Fall 2011 - present)
After applying to a number of teaching positions and undergoing a number of interviews, West Chester University offered me a tenure-track assistant professor position starting in the fall of 2011. I have also been appointed to be the faculty advisor to WCU's Criminal Justice Club. My first semester I taught 2 sections of Introduction to Criminal Justice and 2 sections of Policing in America.
Spring 2012: 2 sections of Policing in America
2 sections of Criminal Investigations
Fall 2012: 2 sections of Policing in America
2 sections of Forensics I
